Week 1 Arriving at the MTC in Brazil

First Week in the MTC It has been insane this past week. I’m on spiritual overload right now, and I am feeling so tired from all the work and studying, but this is still one of the happiest times of my life.  It has its ups and downs so far. The classes are very interactive and very fun, but even though I love the classes and learning the language, I have been super mentally fatigued. Every moment of the day, even during our free moments, me and my companion, Elder Emig, try and study Portuguese, or some of the missionary handbooks that we have received.  If there are some things that I have realized that missionaries live for, it would be food, sports, and sharing the gospel. Not all of them necessarily enjoy the classes for learning Portuguese though, but they love talking about those things. I’m pretty sure that a third of the missionaries here are from Utah. (What a shocker) The rest are either from some other state, Mexico, Africa, or Brazil....

Week 2 in the MTC

My weekly email My MTC experience has definitely not been boring. Even though I am still deciding if I like the MTC or not, I have tons of crazy stories from this past week. Our p-day is on Wednesday, and we usually make trips to the temple on those days so new missionaries can move into the MTC. It just makes the building a lot less busy.  We wake up at 5:30 to get ready, and we all get on a bus to go to the temple at around 6:30. So we get on the bus. For some reason someone had miscounted the seats or something, so I had to sit up front RIGHT next to the bus driver. On my other side was one of the brothers from the MTC. The brother could speak a very small bit of English and the driver couldn’t speak English at all. So it was kind of awkward.  So the driver turns on the engine and we pull out of the MTC. Week 3 from the MTC

Week 3! Life at the MTC is getting crazier. I’m already halfway done with it, and I’m honestly super glad.  The food is just absolutely horrible, and I know that I have said that already.  There were no rolls left during dinner, and my companion turned to me and said, “Well, I guess I just won’t eat then.” Because the rolls are legit the only thing to eat here.  Pizza should be good right? Always? Not exactly. Thursdays are pizza day, but I swear, they take the left overs from the other meals and just throw it on top with a bunch of cheese. It it pretty disappointing when you get there and the pizza toppings are literally roast from the night before and some kind of fish.  Ok,  I’m done talking about the food. Wednesday we went to the temple and during the endowment session, the lady at the altar literally passed out and her husband didn’t even look worried.
